Your Baby's "Magic Markers" of Development...

FAMILY BONDING
It just gets better and better. Very little can trigger angst in your baby, and for the most part, babies are terrifically happy people during this time. They truly become bonded to family members, and protest when handed over to others (in your presence), only because they prefer you, not because they disdain your friends or family. Once you leave the room or their line of site, recovery is rapid. Babies start to recognize their name at this time, and reserve a different and warmer smile for their parents and caregivers.

MOTOR SKILLS, MEMORY, AND... FEET!
Pudgy hands meet at the midline and baby can now transfer a toy from one hand to the other (a subtle indicator that each side of her brain is exchanging information as well). The beginnings of memory start to become obvious as she looks for objects dropped, or reaches more consistently for a favorite toy. An obsession with feet emerges at this time, giving baby yet another set of luscious digits to suck!

BABBLING AND SITTING WITH LESS SUPPORT
Babbling starts to become more prominent and even blowing “raspberries” becomes a part of baby’s vernacular. Sitting with less and less support becomes possible, giving baby a truer sense of independence and a different view of the world.
