Welcome
It was Christmas Day when we received the best present ever! We found out that we would be adding a new memeber to the Offutt Family. The Lord sure had been preparing our hearts for this gift and we are super excited! We ask that you would join us in prayer for this little life.
Naming Our Baby
Well we've finally got a name. Emmaus
This come from the biblical account in Luke 24 where Jesus meets with two of the disciples and proves His ressurection. He also goes on to explain all the scriptures from Moses to that present time concerning who He is. He opened up their eyes and their famous phase "did our hearts not burn within us" captured my heart. Steve and I desire and prayer for our little girl is that her heart would burn for the things of God and for Jesus Himself.
The road that Jesus met these disciples was called "Emmaus."

Interestingly this journey of pregnancy has been life changing and i have had my share of encounters with Jesus on "the road to Emmmaus'" birth.

Day-by-Day: Thanks to all the lovely family and friends that sent birthday money, I finally bought a camera of my own!  It's funny that I have a husband that is a photographer, but we have never had just a point-and-shoot.  Well, now I will be behind the lens which means for you, lots and lots of pictures!

My Heart: I am now starting to "look" more pregnant which has been fun.  Somehow it feels more real when you see that little bump.  I also have a ton more energy.  This has helped me get back into my regular schedule.  I think I'm always in a perpetual state of nesting due to my persoanlity. However, with this new surge of energy I have found myself want to organize and clean everything.  A benefit to my husband and housemates for sure!

Baby's Growth:

  • By now our baby can put a thumb in its mouth, although the sucking muscles aren't completely developed yet.
  • The fetus, which is now about three inches long and a little more than an ounce in weight, would now fit into your cupped hands
  • Tiny ribs will be developing.
  • Vocal cords will begin forming.
  • Baby's eyelids will fuse together to protect the delicate eyes.
  • Tissues and organs will continue to mature.
  • Bone marrow, liver and spleen will be able to produce blood cells now.
  • Fingerprints are beginning to form.
