Anyone else!?? | 2/21/09 2:58 AM
Our screening had come back with a very small chance of Downs, so we went to have a Level 2 ultrasound yesterday and, the doctor said that her (Oh yes, its a girl!) organs, skull looked good! But that he was concerned about her limbs. I am 18 weeks pregnant and her limbs were about a week behind in growth. I was just wondering if you any of you other ladies or know if anyone else who has this and everything worked out ok. We go back in 6 weeks to see if her development has changed. Which we pray has. We decided not to do the amnio.
I also have very large fibroids, don't know if the blood they are taking is effecting the baby's development??
Thanks all!

I just had my test for that & haven't heard the results yet, but I had two friends who were both told their babies might have downs & neither one did.

Wow...with my 2nd child they told me the same thing. I did however have the amnio (very risky considering I am also RH-). If I had to do it again I would never have it done!!
My little guy came out a little smaller than most but is now a perfectly healthy, happy 8 year old monster!!! I have had no problems other then him being on the short side!!! Then again I am only 4 foot 9 and daddy is 5 foot 9 so we could be to blame!!! HE HE
In all seriousness if the baby is healthy...let it be ya know. I felt pressured to have the amnio, please don't let them MAKE you do anything!!
What number baby is this for you?? Good luck!1

Our whole state of mind is the amnio is to risky considering that it doesn't matter if she is perfectly healthy or not. We are so blessed to be pregnant. This is our first baby and we are just so happy!
So glad everything worked out with you and thanks for responding. I can't wait for my little monster! LOL.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear about your stressful situation. They also told us he could have Downs because of ultrasound results. We ended up doing the amnio & he doesn't. They say a lot of these ultrasound results are soft markers and they are being very cautious. In the age of law suits, I think docs always err on the side of caution.
