Cramping at 36 Weeks | 3/7/08 8:50 PM
So, I've been getting these crampy days. I'll usually start cramping in the evening, somehow manage to go to sleep when I go to bed, and usually end up still being crampy for a few hours the next morning. They aren't come-and-go cramps; when I get them, they pretty much don't let off, and can range from "Hm, that's uncomfortable" to "I'm going to die" type pain. Oh, and sometimes, I get a bonus: Lower back pain! I don't really notice any tightening in my stomach or anything like that, and as I said, it's generally pretty constant, so I wouldn't assume that it's Braxton-Hicks. Any idea what it could be?

Sounds like contractions to me, (just small ones). Real contractions feel like bad menstrual cramps. HTH!

I know this post is older, but I just had this exact same experience last night and I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what this is?! My stomach did not get tight like a contraction and the pain was constant for about 20 minutes before releasing. I'm really just wondering if these actually are contractions or not. Has anyone else experienced this before? Thanks for any help!

I'm feeling the same thing. I'm 36.5 weeks and I have that achey, uncomfortable pain when I lay down and it doesn't go away until I sit up. I also have back pain when I'm sitting/laying down too. I go to the doctor today and can't wait to ask what's going on. Unfortunately, I also have high blood pressure that doesn't seem to want to go away. I think I may be induced....
