Does anyone have the name of a good wrap/sling? | 2/20/09 12:50 PM
My baby just turned one month old and I am desperate for a good wrap/sling to use with her so I can move around the house. I am sure she is like most infants and I can't seem to put her down for 5 minutes without her screaming. I tried the Infantino sling and I did not like how she could not see out and overall it just seemed to swallow her. Any brands/advice would be greatly appreciated. Plus, has anyone heard about how the baby Bjorn can hurt the spine or development of the child? Several moms have mentioned this to me and I thought the product looks great so I would like any other opinions.

Thanks in advance!

My sisters all loved the Peanut Shell wraps. I recieved an inexpensive Infantino from Target that's not bad. It doesnt hold the baby next you your body as snugly, so it is not as "hands free" as many of the others, but it was fine for my purposes.

I have a sling from Kangaroo Kids, a store in St. Louis, MO. They're affordable and very versatile. They're a little tricky to figure out exactly how to get the baby in there at first, but they have tutorials online. Their website is www.kangarookidsonline.com.

My absolute favorite is the New Native Baby Carrier... make sure you have the right size though! It was so comfortable. We called it the "magic cloth" because if one of my babies or one of my daycare babies were fussy, we'd put them in the sling and they would calm immediately... and usually fall right to sleep

I started out with the Peanut Shell, then went to the Bjorn, we now use the Ergo. I LOVE the Ergo. It also has the infant insert. It's very comfortalbe and easy to use.
