My doctor told me by all means to get the flu shot and when the H1N1 makes it to Michigan to also get that....My mother told me that out of 100 pregnant women that were diagnosed with the H1N1 virus 28 out of them died....I was skeptical until she told me this...I'm getting it as soon as my doctor gets it in his office!!!

I realize a lot of people are 'running scared' regarding the flu shots and H1N1. But, how many of you have 1) actually researched the information to truly see whether or not you are really at risk or 2) how dangerous the shot could be to your unborn child?

Last year a nursing mother rushed out to get her 'flu' shot because of the Swine flu scare and , honest to GOD, the next day she had no more milk.

We are a nation so programmed to survive by artificial means that we forget that NATURE protected us long before 'modern medicine'. Eat healthy, live cleanly - even Lysol is claiming to be able to kill the H1N1 virus - so spray your surfaces if you want.

You are probably more at risk from the ten to fifteen years you spent taking birth control pills (see the YAZ law suits now)than you are at contracting the killer flu.

I agree that we all need to weigh the pros and cons - or the 'cost/benefit' as my doctor says - and make the decision for ourselves that we feel the most comfortable with.

(But we shouldn't forget that before 'modern medicine', the average life expectancy was 35-40 years.)

I think its a personal choice. The only concern I've heard so far is that the H1N1 vaccine contains a preservative called Thimerosal that may be linked to Autism. They have single doses of the vaccine that does not contain it, but you have to specifically ask for it.
