Gross Question.... | 6/26/08 11:37 PM
Ok, sorry for this, but I really want to know. I had my baby about three months ago, and I still haven't stopped having discharge. It doesn't smell, itch, burn or anything like that, but it does make me wear the really light pads. I had Mirena put in about 7 weeks pp, if that makes any difference. I just started my period a day or two ago, so will it maybe go away afterwards? Any help here would be very greatly appreciated.

It may be from the Mirena. I had a IUC and it actually messed me up inside. I had to have surgery to have it removed, it was cutting my husband and it scared my uterus. I would personally try a different method of Birth Control. Have you talked to your DR. about the discharge??????? I would at least bring it to their attention. Good Luck & Congrats on Baby

Sorry to be nosey but I have a quick question for you...I talked to my DR about Mirena after birth and he told me that because this is my first child he WILL NOT let me use this form of birth control because there is a small chance of becoming sterile from the Mirena. I was just wondering if this was your first child or if you have others? I don't have an answer for your discharge question but good luck and I hope things get back to normal for you

She's my very first child. The commercials just say that you need to have had at least one, and I know several other girls besides myself who got Mirena after their first. I didn't know it could be a problem.

I didn't know either until my Dr said that. I just worry because I have recently seen a lot of news cast about Dr's prescribing a certain medication or treatment because they are being paid by that pharmacutical company. From what I understand they get kickbacks for prescribing...it's kinda scary and I know not all Dr's would do this but I am just kinda on edge about it now. I am sure if your Dr ok'ed it everything is fine. Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Hearing feedback from other people going through the same thing can be comforting, encouraging, and supportive. Please also consider contacting your doctor or healthcare practitioner whenever you have a question or concern about your health, or the health of your baby, (And don’t worry if you think that you’re just being a “worrier”, “hypochondriac”, or “silly” – they get these kind of calls all the time and expect them!)
