My husband and I are both in the national Guard. Both of us were deployed in 2006. We (meaning both of us) volenteered to deploy with a unit out of NC this year but he left for Iraq and i was sent home. I hurt my ankle in training. Not how i expected this year to go. Shortly after he left i found out i was pregnant, but we lost the baby at four weeks (two days after i found out). It was rough but gave us hope. We both want to be parents. He is coming home on leave in a week and i just happen to be ovulating at that time. We have been talking about babies non stop since the miscarrage. I pray that we get anouther chance and can make a healthy baby during his leave. He ets home for good in December, so if it does not happen now we will work on it the. I guess i am just impatient and really want to be a mom now. Losing a baby has made me want it even more.

I wish you luck! Just remember that it can take a while to happen, so don't lose hope. We decided on New Year's Day of 2008 that we wanted to start a family and we found out on New Year's Eve that we were pregnant. We had tried everything (ovulation kits, basal temps, cough syrup, etc.) to help us conceive and it still took about a year. The best advice I can give you (especially as the wife of a former soldier who did a year-long tour in Iraq) is to just enjoy his leave. It's all you get til he's home for good. Don't even think about getting pregnant. If you put too much pressure on conceiving, it's less likely to happen. Just think about celebrating the fact that you're together again. I know what it's like to be impatient, but it will happen for you when it's supposed to! I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.
