How many strollers do you really need?
How many strollers do you really need? | 11/1/07 8:47 PM
This is an interesting topic since you might only need one stroller, but want more than one. (Especially with all of the options available!)

Seven? Are you serious?? I'm 5 months pregnant and I think I only have three in mind...an infant stroller, jogger and lightweight...what's the other four for?

Zack..for a moment I felt your pain, but then realized your place must be HUGE if you can fit seven strollers. I think we have it down to Three (jogging, full boat and umbrella). We're trying to get it down to two (small place, not a mansion like you must have .... this site is great!

So I'm slightly exaggerating. But not by much. We had the snap-and-go type when our daughter was an infant, we got a nice 4x4-type for long walks, we have a lighter one for my wife's car, a really light one for my car, we have a stroller-seat that's really good for airplanes, and my mother-in-law got one to keep on the east coast for when we travel.

So that's six!!! I figure, why stop there...?

Three we had the snap-and-go type when our son was under 9 months. The we graduated to the Stokke Xplory and we will get un umbrella pretty soon.

I think we are going to end up with 4, depending on if we get a baby or not.

Since we don't know what we are getting, and we said ages newborn to 2 years, we had to get a stroller that would work for all. We ended up with the Fisher Price Infant to Toddler and the Peg Venezia. They both work from newborn on up. Though I have noticed that the FP one was outgrown by my niece pretty quickly (we figured we have them, why not use them when the nieces and nephews come to visit). Good thing we didn't pay too much for it (got it on super clearance at Target when they discontinued the color.) We definately need an umbrella for sure- so we'll end up with at least 3. If we do end up with a newborn we'll get the maclaren snap n go.

I think must have would be 1 that is suitable for both infant & toddler.. And one light weight/umbrella stroller. If possible, also a jogging/walking stroller.

This is based on my experience with my first child.

Well, as of now we have 3. The obligatory (but not often used)travel system stroller, the jogger, and the umbrella stroller. Now that we have a second baby on the way we're of course going to have to start looking into a double stroller of sorts (umbrella, jogging, I'm not sure). Oh and I'm thinking of doing a snap-n-go for this one because the travel system was such a pain . We need a garage just to store all the dang strollers!!

I thought I was the only person who wanted more than one! haha. I'm so happy to know I'm not alone on all this! ha! I was thinking a regular full size one that goes with the carseat and all for me to use mainly. Then, a small one for walks around the block. (I founda cute one for like $40 bucks that would serve the purpose) And possibly another simple one for my hubby to keep in his truck.
