I am 18 weeks and this is my experience...I, too, received it when it became available up here in Washington State at the County Health Department....only thing was- they don't have the Thimerisol free one. I wasn't educated enough on Thimerisol to make an informed decision when I found out that day, so I left, went home, did some research, and went back. My reasoning was: No evidence to support potentially harmful Thimerisol on a fetus VS. TONS of evidence this H1-N1 virus can be fatal to otherwise healthy pregnant women. Plus, the amount of Thimerisol in the H1-N1 vaccine I received had about the same as a can of tunafish. They also said they wouldn't vaccinate INSURED people, so I had to lie (the Health Department had the ONLY vaccines), even though I fit into the highest risk catagory! Silly. I checked the "no" box on the sheet they have you fill out and no questions were asked or info verified. I am a Flight Attendant, so I also felt an urgency to get it as soon as possible even if it meant lying to protect myself and the baby, because it's only a matter of time before I come in contact with it! Good thing, too, because they ran out of vaccine in 4 days and thought they would get more within 2 weeks, but still haven't seen any. My Women's clinic where I see my OB are 1st on the list to get and they haven't seen any either! I had no reaction, but they gave my 6 year old, and my 3 neices the spray and by the end of the day, they were all coming down with a cold. It only lasted a few days, and they were fine after that. I think it's because the spray is a live, weakened version. They won't give pregnant women the spray. I'm not a germ-a-phobe- never even got the seasonal before I was pregnant, I think at any cost, GET IT if you can find some!
