So, my pregnancy has been wonderful all up until the last few weeks. At my last doctor visit they found protein in my urine and I was swelling really bad, so on that note they did a 24 hr urine test to rule out PIH, I passed that and I was put on modified bed rest. Then, I had to do the 1hr glucose test...Bombed that with a BS of 198! Then because I failed that one I had to do the 3hr glucose test and I bombed all of those...So now I have been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Its awful! I feel like Im detoxing from using heavy drugs or something but its food lol, crazy. So now Im on this 2200 calorie diet for pregos with GD I miss my carbs and sugar but I know its best for the baby to be healthy so Momma's gotta do it. So on top of ALL this I know it doesn't seem as bad as it could be but for me its bad because on top of all this I still have swelling and my BP has been high ever since I got pregnant and now I have the GD. Anyways last night I was never so scared in my life. Im 29wks and I was having contractions! Had to go to the hospital and be monitored. Turns out everything was ok and I got to go home. Now because of all this I will probably be induced a week b4 my due date due to the high blood sugar levels and I will need to be put on insulin I wanted a Halloween baby but its ok. I will still love her even if she is early

Hang in there! You're almost done. I wish my doctor would induce me a week early! I'm ready NOW!

I know exactly how you feel! I have not been having sugar in my urine or high blood pressure or swelling, but I took the glucose tolerance test at 27 weeks and even though I only failed it slightly (151), my doctor skipped the second test and sent me straight to the Diabetes Center for monitoring. Now I can't eat anything I like! I feel like I'm on detox, too. So far my blood sugar numbers are staying fairly normal except when I cheat (my birthday was last week), so I feel doubly deprived because I'm not even sure all that much is wrong!

Anyway I know it stinks to have GD, but you're right - we need to do whatever's best for baby, and now I'll be induced a week early as well, which means we'll have our daughter that much earlier. Hang in there!

No fun eh?! I just did my 3 hour glucose test yesterday, and am fearful everytime the phone rings!!!! I'm even more scared it will be true because we didn't find out for 3 weeks that I had failed my 1 hour screen.... I haven't had protein in my urine at all, or swelling, but I have a high BMI, and diabetes in my family, so I'm really not too hopeful at this point!

I almost hope that I have to be induced early because I don't want a halloween baby.... and it's right near family birthdays too so if it were sooner, then baby would have their birthday to themselves!

Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy, I hope all goes well for you.

Oh, sweeti, you're almost done, hang on! Remember, only a couple months left. I've been lucky with all my tests coming back normal. I was diagnosed high risk from the get go, but have since had smooth sailing. At least we're in the final stretch, and our babies are healthy. Good luck on your "detox" regimen, it'll all be worth it soon even though it's hard now.

You have a lot going on, but whatever you have to do, you're doing it for your baby! I'm 32 weeks and swelling terribly too! My blood pressure was up so my doc told me to take it easy too. Where I live, it is uncomfortably hot and miserable so staying inside with a/c and a fan is ok with me!
Chin up and stay strong. I'm thinking about you while I'm at home resting too! Good luck with everything!!!!!
