Last trimester and lack of sleep. | 7/16/09 10:39 PM
So I am in my final 38 days til my c-section, which I absolutely cannot wait for! Don't get me wrong, I love being pregnant! Oh, but this whole insomnia thing is just killing me. Not that I am not tired, because I am zombie tired. It's just any time I want to lay down and go to sleep, the baby knows and starts doing aerobics or something. I try laying on my left side, he moves to that side and sticks his foot or some part of himself through my stomach, so then I roll over and he follows me to the other side!!
I've tried everything- warm milk, tea, lavender and chamomile baths- that makes me tired, just not this little guy. I have turned into a vampire and have had to sun proof my room and try to sleep during the day, because that is the only time he sleeps. Only problem is during the process, I sunburnt my eyeballs,OUCH! I am just worried that once he is born, he will stick to the same schedule and only sleep during the day.
Anyone with me on no sleep??????

On a positive note, I am finally having my baby shower and I am having a blast decorating his room in Vintage Mickey Mouse.

Sorry for my complaining, have no one around to talk to. Especially someone who understands. Because in the time I am writing this, my husband is catching his beauty sleep. Lucky him!

Oh Katie,

We understand... and I hate to be the bearer of bad news it doesn't get better as the weeks go on. Good news is ... we're almost done! And we can use the lack of sleep for other reasons other than a bowling ball tummy or terror in the uterus.

Best wishes to you.

That's exactly what my baby girl does! I wish she would just sleep so that I can too! And I just can't wait until I can comfortably sleep on my stomach again.

Yep, you are not alone. I can't even seem to take a nap. But it's not too much longer now.
I went to the Dr. yesterday for my check-up and he asked how I was feeling. I told him I was really tired from not getting enough sleep. We went through the reasons I haven't been sleeping (peeing a zillion times, not able to find a comfy position, baby kicking, etc.) and he said, "Well, I understand that you're tired but I want to wait a couple weeks before we think about inducing." Inducing?!?!? I was not thinking that at all!!! He's due in only 4 WEEKS as it is and I don't know how I'm going to get everything done. I can't even imagine if he came sooner! No, I think I'll stick it out. :-)

I feel like I can't nap anymore, because he loves to kick me and do flips, or whatever he is doing in there! I can definitely say I get my ten fetal kicks in about 2 minutes, lol. He is one active one and once he arrives I know I will feel better because I will finally be able to see who's been kicking me all this time! On the other hand, my lack of sleep will be due to his crying and not because I can't get comfortable, or have to pee, or just get awakened by a sudden jab or kick! These last weeks seem like an eternity though!
