My due date is in a month (Dec. 4th) and i'm looking for reasonably priced nursery items. Preferably darker colord furniture and green bedding. (Not firm on coloring) if any of you guys have any items please let me know. Thanks

this is the crib I chose. The color is perfect, it is more brown/black looking than red which is what I was worried about in picking a cherry wood. I'm not sure what you consider to be reasonably priced, I think its actually a little on the expensive side and probably never would have got it, but the bedroom set was my parents gift to us. We didn't get the matching short dresser/changing table, instead we went with the taller dresser which I didn't see on the website and got a seperate changing table from a different collection, that did end up matching quite nicely.

If you haven't already done so, try ebay! I bought a lot of things on there for my first baby (and still do!). Some things are gently used, some are brand new, just make sure you read the descriptions before you bid/buy. Also if you end up buying any baby items on ebay or anywhere on the internet for that matter, google it to make sure that it hasn't been recalled. Thousands of cribs have been recalled over the past couple years, so just check it out first. Hope that helps, it has been my savior for cheap but nice baby items (Brand name items, too!)

I am due December 3 so what a great week to be due. We bought our crib and changing table/dresser from IKEA. The look is is more of a medium antique finish but we chose to go with the set from IKEA because it is made from solid maple and maple veneers and almost everything else we could find that was reasonably priced was made with composite and formaldehyde is generally used in the treatment of composite wood and that isn't exactly what I want my son to chew on! ALso the set from IKEA is VERY afforable. The downside of it is mostly that it isn't super fancy or snazzy and that you may or may not have an IKEA close to you. I personally think its worth the drive. Also, we are big fans of Consumer Reports and they rated the IKEA crib really well. Good luck and remember that the crib in particular is likely an investment in this child and any that are to come so you want it to be one that could hopefully withstand being banged on and chewed for years to come. Unless you are just planning on having one child, that is likely a good reason to consider forgoing the extra cost of a convertible crib unless it is just a bonus that you may not really pay for, as with the IKEA crib. Good luck and happy shopping!
