Lots of symptoms, negative test | 2/6/08 4:37 AM
Alright. SO I am at least a week late. I have been beyond exhausted. For example for 2 weeks I would sleep 8hrs and still need a nap and then go to bed early. SO not like me. I also have had crazy gas (symptom with first pregnancy). And super out of control emotionally. Also not like me. I dont have anything major stressful in my life except taking care of my 2yr old and thats not that bad. But man...whats going on? I took a test last night and it said "not pregnant". What else could it be?
Im going to try again this weekend if my period doesnt show up. In the morning like they say to do!

Thoughts?

Thanks
Melanie

It is possible that you just don't have enough of the pregnancy hormones yet. I got a positive pregnancy test at 5 weeks pregnant, but a good friend of mine took one when she was also five weeks, got a negative result, and then took another two weeks later and was found out to be pregnant after all. Also, it is definitely best to take the test in the morning when more of the hormone will be released. Other than that, if you're not really stressed out or anything, I'm not sure what it might be. Sometimes losing weight or just being underweight can throw your period off and make it start late, but I'm not sure of anything else. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

I agree. Maybe you ovulated a little late this cycle, so aren't quite far enough along to get a positive test? I had three negative tests over about a ten day period when I was having a lot of symptoms. Waited about another week, because that was just a ridiculously long cycle otherwise, and bingo!, I tested positive. Give it a few days and try it again.

I was 14 days late, with all the symptoms, but it turned out I was not pregnant. We had been trying ( and are pregnant now) so I though I was pregnant. My cycle was never late, but maybe it was just because I wanted it so bad.
Wait a few more days, even a week, and test again if you dont get your period.
If you STILL dont get a positive, Id make an appt with the Doctor just ot be sure....

i have been pregnant 4 times before (but miscarried around 6 to 9 weeks each time)
i think im preggers agian..BUT i tested 2xs both to get a negative.
i have always test 5 days before my missed period but now when i test 1 day before my MP it still says neg.
i find it odd that all the other times it picked up on my hormones but this time its not ??? im ready to see that positive sign but getting nervous and antsy. so dont give up girl i guess we still have to wait a little longer

It could be any number of things. I would wait another week and test again. If you can't wait that long, you can call the doctor and have a blood test ordered.
