Hello all!

This is our first pregnancy and we just found out this past Saturday. I am 4 weeks and 4 days. I have been having cramping and backaches pretty much on a daily basis. I was worried and did call my doctor on Wednesday and she said that there was no call for concern unless I was bleeding. Really hard to not make your mind wander... Is it eptopic? Will I have a miscarriage? 100 things go through your mind and I was hoping someone could put my mind to ease...

BTW I ready Tylenol is ok to take for all this... Is this correct?

Thanks in advance so much!!!

I know it is hard hun. the best thing I can tell you to do is go to the ER, if the pain is that bad. they will do an ultasound and run tests. ~ if it were me that is what I would do.

I had a rough pregnancy with my duaghter. I was so afriad for 9 months. at 14 weeks I fell. the placenta had a small rip. I was told I was fine n to go back to work. I felt I was not ok and went to a different doctor. the new doctor told me I would have lost my baby had I gone back to my job of heavy lifting and stress.

You have to do what you feel in your heart is right. If you feel something is wrong go to a different doctor or if the pain is that bad go to the ER. even if nothing is wrong it will put your mind at rest. They may just put you on bed rest for a few weeks. it's not so bad.

yes tylenol is safe, as long as it is not extra strength, pm or cold.

I wish you the best luck. I'm sure everything will be fine. hang in there!

I am so sorry you are going through this. I would say def. go to the ER asap. I have been trying for the last 2 1/2 yrs to get pregnant. In 2007 I became pregnant. I had horrible cramping on my left side, I mean I was doubled over. At first it just felt like I was constipated, it felt like there was a lot of pressure down there. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and called the dr. He stated I was probably miscarrying and there was simply nothing he could do for me at this point.

At midnight, I checked myself into the ER and after many tests and IV's with "happy juice" I was rushed to Indianapolis (a more technology friendly hospital, over an hour away from where I was)The dr came in and told me that if I had waited just 10-15 minutes longer I would have died. I couldn't stop crying! He told me they would have to abort the baby due to it had implanted in my tube and exploded the tube. I had to have my tube removed. Which made it harder to get pregnant. I suffered 2 miscarriages after that.

I am now 11 weeks pregnant. I started bleeding Wed night, called the dr. He stated again, nothing he can do. I was already on prometrium, heard the heart beat 175 so I went to the ER and they siad it was more than likely due to intercourse.

I wish you the best of luck. It's really hard to enjoy your pregnancy when all these unfortunate events happen.

I had bad cramps AND spotting and everything was perfectly fine. My baby's coming in 2 weeks. So don't worry yet. And yes for tylenol. It's been my best friend all along!

before I found out I was pregnant I got really really sick. For about a week I couldnt eat hard to sleep and Oh my the pian! I had a lot of female problems n just had a D&C done 2 months b4. I thought it was the same problems as b4 just coming back. one year ago today I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. my mom took me into the ER to fine out I was going to have a baby! ~ My hubby n i was told I can not have a baby do to all the problems I have had over the years. and If i did carry a baby it would be rough 9 months. and it was right from the start but the delivery was a piece of cake!

You name it i've been through it with my daughter.. she is healthy and keeps me on my feet!

But go to the ER it will help with the worry. I'm sure everything will be fine. its just your body telling you "hey there's something new here" :-)

Thanks so much everyone for your replies..

I have felt a little better, cramping does come and go but isn't constant... I am hoping the little bean is just letting me know it is there!!

5 weeks tomorrow so I hope everything is going well... It seems like the longest time until your first doctor's appointment!!!

Yes, it does seem like a LONG time between finding out you're pregnant and getting that first dr. appointment. My doctor waited until I was almost 9 weeks before they would see me. But on that first appt, they did a vaginal ultrasound and we got to see our little bean. It was a huge relief! I also cramped a lot the first few weeks after finding out I was pregnant. For a long time it was on the left side, then it was on the right... but never any bleeding. I always called my dr. when I thought it was necessary; once they had me come in and checked the baby's heartbeat and looked at the possibility of a kidney stone. It turned out to be ligament stretching (this was around 18 weeks for that one). But again, I did experience extreme period-like cramping early on (4-7 weeks). My dr. told me that it was normal, that the uterus was prepping dealing with a new tenant (along with the extra hormones).

If you do feel serious pain, go to the ER or your doctor though. Dr's are used to us first-time mommies-to-be being a little more concerned than anyone who's already gone through it.

Good luck and congratulations!

So sorry to hear you're having such a rough time! If you feel something isn't right, then you should go the ER. ONLY you truly know what's going on and they will do any u/s to rule anything out or tell you that you are perfectly fine! Sometimes, the reassurance is what you (what we all need) to help us get through a tough situation. When I first found out I was pregnant, I was convinced I was miscarrying due to bleeding and cramping. I called the dr. office and they reassured me it was implant bleeding and could have also been from having sex too. I was told to take it easy for a few days and no sex -- not a problem since now I was a nervous wreck about the baby! :-) I'm now 33 weeks and counting!

As for taking Tylenol, it is perfectly safe, as is Tylenol PM too. Tylenol PM is tylenol and denadryl combined and both are perfectly safe to take throughout pregnancy! My doc gave me a sheet to refer to for what I can safely take during these months. Let me know if you would like a copy and we can some how figure out a way for me to send it to you!

Good luck and happy pregnancy! Congratulations!!!
