Is anyone setting up an online registry where you can choose items from different online shops?

I have been looking at setting up a registry list on TheThingsIWant.com. I would like to be able to choose somethings that are from more handmade/independent vendors.

I am also planning to do a Target registry for the "basics".

Curious if anyone has any experience with that website or any other. Thanks!

Kirsten what # baby are you pregnant with? I just had my baby 6 months ago after my first who is 6 years old so I had to have the whole babies r us and target registry. I am trying to have another baby now and since they will be close in age I am seriously considering doing an online registry in one of the baby boutiques since I will already have most of the basics that way I can get something for me too! My friend has her registry at beninibug.com and I lve their stuff so I think I'm gonna do mine there too. Good Luck!

I too wanted a site where I could register for things all over the web. I tried "ThingsIWant" but did not care for the name of it or the style or layout....

So, I created a list at http://www.tadalist.com - it's very simple and if someone clicks something (as in "I'm going to by this item for her") it changes to gray and goes to the bottom of the list as already picked.

I think it will make a nice link to a baby shower evite (for anyone who wants a few ideas). We have a very small house and I am naturally very practical. I have done a LOT of research and know exactly what I need as far as baby necessities - whether I buy it myself or if someone chooses to gift it to me. And I'm adding a lot of inexpensive items to choose from. I'm also going to add that a nice alternative gift would be your favorite childhood book!

I've been using www.amazon.com. They have a feature called the "Universal Wish List". Basically, it put a bookmark on my toolbar, and whenever I see something I like - no matter what website it is - I just click on the bookmark and it adds to my list. I have things from all over on there! If you click on 'share wishlist' you can have it generate a unique URL for your list, and although it's a little long, that makes it easy to find. It also does remove items from the list as people purchase them.
