Riley for a boy??????/ | 9/26/09 1:41 PM
I want to use Riley for our 4th son. But, I am a little concerned about it becoming more and more popular for girls. What do you guys think? Are there any other boys named Riley out there? I have only known one boy and no girls with this name. My other kids are

Austin Ray

I think it is a very cute name for a boy. I would go for it, especially if you like it! Don't worry about running across a girl with the name Riley, I think it's just as fitting for a boy... of course my opinion may be a bit biased since that is my fiance's last name and is going to be our baby's last name

I think Riley is a great name for a boy I have a nephew with that name and it fits him perfect. Pluse if you spell it Riley its kind of more masculan. I have a friend who spells her daughters name Rilie and its a little more feminen.

I named my son Riley. He just turned a year old in October. My husband and I were hesitant at first but then you just get over it. Although, know that you will have to say if it is a boy or girl when on the phone with someone and also sometimes in person. You know how some people don't pay attention to the colors you have your baby in. Hope this helps.

Yes, yes, yes! Finally another person who likes the name Riley for a boy. I named my 1st son Riley Lewis and was amazed at how adults reacted to it. Just so you know incase you do choose for his name to be Riley, he dont get made fun of in school because he has a "girls name" go for it!

My nephew's name is Riley and it suits him perfectly. My sister gave him a middle name so that he would have an easy nickname just in case he ran into a little girl or even another little boy at school. She named him Riley Joseph and so we sometimes call him RJ, but he likes Riley better and so do we. If you love, love it, then don't worry.

I think it's too feminine at this point.

What about
Quinn
Colin
Ryan
Shawn
Dylan
Logan
Tyler

Just some names that I thought went well with your other kids names. Congratulations! I hope this helps.

We considered that name as well, spelling it Reilley. I know a 11 year old boy by that name, and one other as well. I think it's cute!

I am a teacher and I come across many names. I currently am teaching a boy named Riley and the name fits him very well. There is a girl as my school named RIley, but I think the name for a boy is great.

Riley is a great name! In fact we named my son Riley. His nicknames are Riley Coyote (instead of Wiley Coyote)& Ri-Bear. No one has come to me yet when they hear his name and say oh isn't that a girl name? so go for it!!!
