Hi there,

Read your post. I can sympathise with you fully. I am 11 weeks pregnant and this time round have suffered with extreme vomiting and nausea from morning til night on most days. I went to the doctor and she prescribed me an anti sickness/ anti nausea tablet that is totally safe to take with no side effects. I have been taking the tablets since week 8 of my pregnancy and after taking the tablets for the first week noticed an improvement and this week is the best I have felt yet. Hope this may be of any help for you,

regards

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I was sick thru 20 weeks. Have you tried "Preggie Pops" yet or even sour candy? It is also important to eat regularly even if you don't feel like it. If I was late eating dinner, I would definitely get sick. If your's is really bad and you are losing weight and unable to keep anything down, you might want to be evaluated for hyperemesis gravidarum. Hope you feel better soon.

I totally understand...i was very sick for about the first 13 weeks and finally had my doc prescribe some antinausea meds. The first didnt work and i ended up on zofran and it is was a miracle! It didnt have the side effects of phenergan and i could finally eat again. Check with your doc about it...it truly was a lifesave for me. Feel better...it does get sooo much better

Thank you for your advice. I was actually taking zofran for about a month and I was doing alot better. I had to do battle with my insurance co. however to approve me for 30 pills which im sure you know only last 15 days..The doctor gave me reglan yesterday but it is not working. I think I am going to try and fight with them a little more because it is impossible to even work! Thanks for your advice..This is alot harder then I ever thought it would be that is for sure!

Oh you poor girl! We all hear you! I tried peppermints, which worked for a little while. They stopped working and I tried preggie pops, which didn't work for me. The ONLY thing that worked the best were sea bands. You can get them online. They are for morning and motion sickness. Not many people I know had heard of them. They're only about 15 bucks! Good luck honey!

I'm only 5 weeks and I'm feeling nausea start to pick up. I read tons of articles and here's a quick rundown of helpful things:
1. Good thing is, the sicker you are, the more likely your baby will carry to full term.
2. Women with morning sickness have less chances for cancer later in life!
3. It will hit most when you're hungry or have had anything too oily, greasy, or spicy.
4. Ginger, sniffing citrus, bland starchy foods like crackers and pretzels, all help, along with lots and lots of water.
5. Accupressure or motion sickness wristbands may help. They sell them in the fishing aisle of stores like Walmart, or check Babies R' Us
6. Eat small, meals of crackers or fruit with crystalized ginger. A nearly full stomache is supposed to be less nauseous.

Hope this helps! It's helped me so far, or at least made me feel better knowing the sicker I am, the better baby is faring.

I totally understand how you feel. With my first baby, I was extremely sick. It went on for a long time and I got to the point where I couldn't keep down water. I lost several pounds. At that point my doctor became concerned and gave me a prescription. BUT, he also told me I could try taking UNISOM. It's an over the counter sleep aid. It's safe to take during pregnancy and for some reason it helps morning sickness. I started taking it and stopped throwing up and regained my appetite. Another plus was that it helped me to sleep, which I needed. You can also get ginger suppliments and they might help. I tried them, but eventually they didn't work enough. These might be options if you want something cheaper than a prescription.

I just recently found out I'm going to have another baby and I'm hoping I won't be that sick with this one.

Good Luck to you

I know how you feel, I was sick for the first 3 months all day everyday! I could not find anything that helped. I told the doctor & she put me on some nasiua meds. They help quite a bit. You may ask you OB about that & they are safe for you & baby.

Try Seabands. Google them - they really have worked miracles for me. They aren't super cute, but they really help! Good luck!!!!

I am going through some horrible morning sickness in my 9th week except that it lasts all day. I feel nauseated and throw up each time I eat. I have lost appetite for all types of food but I make sure I atleast drink little sips of water and dont know if I am meeting the minimum requirement for the baby and me. At times, I just lay low and cry while throwing up. Office trips are miserable. I met my OB and she asked me to take zophran which kicks in only after 4 hrs of taking it and lasts for about 9-10 hrs. When I take this, it just helps me relieve throwing up but not the queasy feeling I have all day.

Any suggestions from anyone on what food should I force myself to eat when I dont feel like eating anything at all. I have hated ginger all life and I am getting immune to sour things.

I can understand what you're going through as well. Unfortunately, morning sickness is something that most women endure during pregnancy. There are a few things you can do to try to help. Keep some crackers or pretzels right next to your bed at night and munch on them on and off, that way your stomach is never really completely empty. Also, Ginger Ale and ginger snaps can offer some relief. Mint flavored ice cream was great for me my first time around. My doctor had me try Unisom and Vitamin B6 as well. Unfortunately, my second pregnancy was much worse than my first. After losing a little more than 10 pounds, I wound up being put on prescription medicine to help me cope. It still didn't take away all the nausea, but it helped enough that I could hold down simple foods. Just remember that most women only have to deal with morning sickness for the first trimester and that it should go away before too much longer. Hang in there and don't be afraid to ask your doctor/midwife about other alternatives.
