What No One Told Me About Life With Baby
What No One Told Me About Life With Baby | 4/6/09 9:04 AM
There's a new thread on 'Pregnancy 101' talking about the surprising things that pregnant women weren't expecting, i.e. excessive sweating, random hairs sprouting out, etc.

There are definitely a zillion things that new moms aren't expecting (even thought their friends probably thought they covered everything!), and now that I'm expecting my second daughter (almost 4 years after my first arrived), I think I need a refresher course.

I remember being surprised at how my hormones fluctuated so wildly that I would be freezing and then sweating just rocking my daughter. And how I was apparently the last on the block to know that little ones shouldn't have honey until they were a year old. (Not that I was spoon feeding her honey at 3 weeks - but it was something I just didn't know!)

What else did you find surprising or unexpected?

Hilary,

I know exactly how you feel - I felt the same way- kind of blindsided by the physical changes that can happen. That's why I launched a website afterbabybody.comthat talks about all the physical things that can happen when we pop out kids. I certainly wish I'd know more before I got pregnant.
