Hey ladies. If there is anyone out there hanging out in the last week or so of pregnancy and can't wait to go into labor I have a suggestion.

After I had hit 40 weeks, dilated to 2cm and having contractions for over 2 weeks, I asked my Doctor about scraping my membranes or also called "the sweep". If you dont' know- it's where a doctor manually does a sweep with his finger in your cervix to detach your bag of waters from the cervix. (they must be careful though, because they can accidentally break your water)
And by doing this procedure- you are suppose to go into labor within 48 hours. and if not...you can get the Doc to give it another try.

So i had this done at 2 days OVERDUE. The rest of the day I had tight contractions immediately after leaving the office. I thought this was it! But no. The next day at Noon i lost my mucus plug, called my Doctor and he checked me. I was now 3cm. Went home and everything was fine.

The next morning I convinced myself to go get induced. (4days overdue) So I packed up and headed for the hospital (an hour away) Before we got 2 blocks from my house I started having contractions.(47 hours after having the SWEEP) By the time we reached the hospital I was in full blown labor and I had my baby girl 5 hours from the 1st contraction.

Ask your doctor if you are close to being overdue...if this is something you can have done.

My baby girl is 3 weeks old now.

Congrats on your baby girl!!!! I will keep that in mind if Kailyn doesn't show around her due date

LOL, I think you mean 'stripping the membranes'. I've never heard it called scraping, lol- they are just separating them from the inside of the uterus- always helped me ripened more to get a good stripping, or sweep.
