My OBGYN told me it would be OK to take Clariton and Mucinex every day right now, even though I'm in 1st trimester as my allergies are so bad this time of year. Anyone else hear this is OK??

Mine said it was fine, too. When my BFF (we are 30, but don't act like it!) was pregnant her allergies were CRAZY and she took both, by docotr's orders. If your doc says it's fine and you feel like it's fine then what's stopping you from relief? I know there those who feel an organic pregnancy is the only kind of pregnancy...but I am one that feels that when Mommy is happy (within reason, not suggesting crack or anything) everybody's happy!

I had the flu once before I knew I was pregnant, and then got a really bad cold right after I found out. I took Mucinex both times - it's on my Dr's OK list too. Claritin is also one of the safest allergy medicines, but it doesn't work that great for me so I've been taking Zyrtec. It's supposed to be safe too. You may check with your allergist about getting a nasal spray - mine has me on Rhinocort and it is helping a lot so that I don't have to ingest the pills every day, just on the really bad days.
