back pain | 3/22/09 4:12 PM
I've been having back pain pretty much all day for the past few days and massages have been no help unfortunately for me. However, its not in the lower back as suspected but more in the middle part of the back. Is anyone going through the same thing? If so, what have you done to alleviate the pain? Has anyone tried acupuncture for this? Some methods that have not worked include: sitting up straight, propping pillows behind back, stretching, countless massages from the hubby...I'm bout 29 weeks and thinking bout this lasting 2 1/2 more months is frightening!!

I went out and bought an exercise ball that I plan to use during my birthing. If I kneel down, with my upper body supported by the ball, and rock side to side it usually helps release my back muscles. It's not a permanent solution, but helps me out for a little while.
Good luck!

Your post is one of the few I've seen that mentions back pain other than located in the lower back. My girlfriend is horribly uncomforable tonight with a constant feeling of what she describes as "chronic discomfort", and massages, sportscream, and icy hot have not had much effect as of yet....her pain is located in the center of her upper back, between her shoulder blades, and while she says it is not similar to a back spasm or a muscle pull or strain, she did remark that it felt tight and almost like a giant knot(s) in her back...she has taken to sleeping on the couch lately in an act of desperation to find some sort of relieffrom the constant discomfort. Have you found anything that works yet, even if for a litle while?
