middle name for Mae? | 7/22/09 5:39 AM
I would love to use Mae as my baby girls first name. It's simple and sweet. I just can't find a middle name that I love, everything I think of seems to complicate the name. Some that I have thought of are
Mae Lilianne
Mae Elaina
Mae Isabelle
Mae Lily (both of these are family names)
I would love some other ideas!

That's a tricky one! I've known girls with Mae as a middle name, not as a first. I haven't the slightest clue what middle name would sound good. I wish you luck!

Mae is difficult to bring a middle name to, but how about Elizabeth? I think it also depends on the last name too. In my opinion, the three names need to "flow" with each other other. Since Mae is a one syllable name, you might want to find a middle name that has 2 or 3 syllables (sorry, it's the teacher in me!).....good luck.

How about Mae Simone?
Although i do like Mae Lily...my daughters name is Lily.

Atleast you have the 1st name that is always the hardest and biggest commitment for me.

Have you thought of no middle name at all? Think Mae West. Technically, she was born Mary Jane, but the stage name is compelling in its simplicity, and if the simplicity is what you like about the name, I say put it up there on a pedestal by itself.

Mae Belle is kind of nice. I had a great-grandmother named Minnie Belle.

I was going to name my baby May Lynn so i really like Lynn for a middle name. I would stick with one syllable names it flows better.

Other considerations (my faves in general): Allison, Patience, Leah, Rebecca

Of your choices, I like Elaina and Lilianne. Mae Lily sounds a lot like a single name "Mae-Lily" which is fine...just thought I'd point it out though.

I recently read a fantastic children's book called Our Only May Amelia', by Jennifer L. Holm. Ever since, I've thought May Amelia, or in your case Mae Amelia, is really pretty.
