I had acid reflux or "heartburn" before getting pregnant but it was controlled by diet changes. Now that I'm 12 weeks my morning sickness brought acid reflux back with a vengence! I would actually not suggest a ton of dairy though. Contrary to popular belief, dairy can temorarily sooth (as you mentioned) but it is a complex food to digest so don't got dairy crazy! The basic issue of acid reflux is the overproduction of acid in the stomach. During pregnancy it is usually the result of a slowing of the digestive processes due to hormones and/or organs getting smushed as baby grows

! Keep all that in mind and continue to listen to your body as far as foods that you can tolerate. I don't like to take medication for it but I'm about to start on it again because Tums just aren't quite cutting it and I am entering the 2nd trimester where I REALLY need to be able to eat a healthy diet.
