hrowing a baby shower is a memorable event for friends and family to celebrate the imminent arrival of a baby. Whether it’s a family member, close friend, or coworker hosting this special event, the goal of the shower is to be a stylish celebration that reflects the personality of the mom-to-be.
We have been designing parties for many years, and through trial and error, we know what ideas shine through every time. Here are some of our favorites for the decor, menu, and invitation.
The Decor
1. Create a beautiful centerpiece by using
small white cups filled with flowers or fresh herbs from the grocery store. Place the arrangements in a line down the center of the party table or at each guest’s place setting. We love this idea because you can buy the cups in a set for a nominal amount of money and use them again. If you have extra flowers or herbs, tuck them into each napkin for an added touch. For flowers with broken stems, float them in small bowls.

2.
Wall decals are the best invention because they can be applied in minutes and they’re affordable, removable, and create instant style. There are many uses for wall decals, but two of our favorites are to incorporate them into your party space. When choosing the decal for your shower, remember to keep the theme in mind.

The first idea is to place the decal on the center of the main party table, taking the place of table linens. Once the decal is placed, set the table. Another idea is to create a custom, personalized decal for the guest of honor. Hang the decal in the entrance of the party to welcome all of the guests to this special event. The best part is the guest of honor can take the decal home and use it in the nursery.
3. We love
paper lanterns and include them in most of our parties because they instantly say “party.”

Paper lanterns are inexpensive and are available in many colors, patterns, and different shapes and sizes. Fill the ceiling with lanterns to make an impact in your party space, stack them vertically to create a streamer effect, or just hang one large lantern over the dining table. When the party is over, collapse the lanterns, stack them in a closet, and they’re ready to use for the next event.
