f you haven’t already noticed, your boobs are gearing up for the arrival of that little baby of yours... which means you’re about to welcome two new members to that already hot body of yours!
Your boobs are about to take on a life of their own. Bigger is not always better, but momma, there’s nothing you can do about it - so you might as well be prepared and start shopping for a great nursing bra.
I know what you’re thinking... how can a nursing bra possibly look good and feel good? You’ve probably ditched your favorite La Perla or Agent Provocateur bra by now and the thought of wearing one of those big, bulky nursing bras is so not what you want to do. But rest assured that today’s maternity designers are hip to that fact and there are some pretty fabulous (and sexy!) bras out there that I am sure you’ll love.
Whether you decide to breastfeed or not, you’re still going to need a good, supportive nursing bra. So take those boobs of yours to your favorite maternity store and follow these tips...
Don’t Procrastinate
The best time to buy a nursing bra is near the end of your 8th month. By then, you’re probably bursting out of your everyday bra and surely need the extra support. Plus, the end of your pregnancy gets a little chaotic so plan ahead and check this one thing off your “must do” list right now! You and your boobs will thank me!
The Fit Factor
Be sure to buy bras that not only look good, but also FEEL good. Your boobs will fluctuate in size from now until Junior arrives (and after!), so take the time to find a well-fitting bra.
Size Matters
I recommend having a sales associate at your local maternity shop help you properly measure yourself for a new bra. You’ll need an accurate circumference of your rib cage as well as your cup size to determine what bra size you’ll need.
Lovely in Lace
Trust me… Google search "maternity bras" and you will find designers that make sexy, supportive bras that are of the same quality as those traditional, boring nursing bras.
The More the Merrier
Invest in a few different bras for these reasons:
Just like your wonderful pregnancy wardrobe, you need a little variety. Buy the basics: nude and black. I personally don’t love white bras, but if you find a style in white that you just can’t live without, grab it!
- New moms are always short on time - so who wants to be doing laundry when you can be hanging out with that gorgeous new baby of yours? Always have one or two bras ready to go for this reason alone.
There you have it. Looking good starts with feeling good, and having a sexy, pretty bra is the first step to feeling fabulous!
